Westbound 401 Reopens Hours After Fatal Collision Near Ingersoll

One Person Dead, Two Others Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash

INGERSOLL, ONT. – The westbound lanes of Highway 401 have reopened just west of Ingersoll following an early morning fatal collision.

It was just after 2 a.m. on Friday when members of the West Region OPP were called to the scene of the crash.

Police say a two-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck occurred in the westbound lanes of the highway, just west of Ingersoll.

One Person Pronounced Dead at Scene

As a result of the collision, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were injured and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for several hours as police investigated the collision.

The highway has since reopened, but motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.
